So after playing an electric for about a year I bought an acoustic guitar. After about 2 or 3 months of that i have learned all the basic open chords and I'm still working on barre chords. I know a few songs but I wanted to take my knowledge to the next level and learn a little bit more theory. I was just wondering if you guys could point me to some scales I should learn or anything else you think I should know. Thanks

For now, I would just work on the pentatonic minor, pentatonic major and major scale. There are several websites and books that can teach you how to play these in all their positions.

Get familiar with the blues scale, then download some backing tracks and just mess around and see how it sounds.
