Just wondering, who here thinks pickgaurds generally look fugly on basses? I mean, I see a cool one once in a while, but it usually just makes me not want to buy the bass...

I find pickguards on basses pretty useless. They're not supposed to be played with a pick, IMO.

Yeah. It's more fun without a pick too, but I learned to use one anyways because it works better with certain songs...

When I first started I didn't hit the body with my pick.. I actually don't think I've ever hit the body with the pick while playing, but then I'm not a retard.. I'm sure pick guards work for someone, somewhere.
