An idea I thought up: Post the songs you think are essential for every guitarist to know.

For Example:
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Back in Black - ACDC
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

etc...

I didn't know where else to put it so I just posted it here. I didn't want to spam another forum

The first song I learned was some Offspring song I can't remember anymore.

But I did manage to figure out how to play Smoke on the Water before I ever even heard the song.

My first song was Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.

Oh, and I would say some important songs, (no one's required to learn them though. of course. goes for everything in this thread.) are

Iron Man
Day Tripper, by the Beatles
the chords for As My Guitar Gently Weeps

maybe one no one will request, but I think is good to play is Drive, by Incubus.
The arena is empty except for one man,
Still driving and striving as fast as he can.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup,
But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns...
