Any way to hook up normal 8 ohm speakers to a computer or will shit blow up? Right now I'm using the crappiest little computer speakers hooked up to a gateway box...thing.

If its just a cab, you will probably need a power amp. If its a combo then go for it.

playing by yourself is like masturbating, sure it feels great, but it's nothing compared to the real deal.

lol. Not talking about guitar gear at all. Just regular speakers you could hook up to a stereo or something but into the computer.

oh... my bad

Still, you would need to run through the stereo unless they are powered speakers.

yea you need a few amps though...
Preamp and a poweramp

Preamp boost the signal from the sound card
that feeds to the power amp which drives the speaker.

R&R may have more info on this subject. IMO, its a better place to ask compared to The Pit.
