The Jackson is probably the best quality guitar on that page. Epiphones aren't the best unless they are the upper-priced ones, esp's under 100's (i.e. M50 instead of M100) aren't great, washburns are ok, no-name guitar brands i wouldn't go for, lower quality deans aren't great either, first act is eh, the ibanez gio is a horrible guitar...so I'd buy the jackson...or....if you can wait just save for Zacky Vengeance or Synyster Gates signature guitars....

i think you will soon find out that it does not matter as to what guitar you have, but to what amp you have.
if you want there sound you will need a mesa triple rectifier stack which will cost you upwards of 2.5k once you get the cab and everything.
once you have the amp then you can look for a guitar i would go with an ibanez with a floyd rose and either emg active pickups or get some of the pickups that he uses the seymour duncan invader's (according to google)
you can't get out of spending a crap-load of money if you want to sound like someone.

The Ibanez is the best on that list, especially for A7X(and I don't even like Ibanez).

But, as stated above, your amp is what really matters.

He's got a Roland Cube 20x, it's in his sig. And it's about what guitar would be best for A7x type music, so let's try and answer that

What Jackson is it exactly?

Also the Epiphones are kindof out of the question so you could eliminate those.

ASBY; the Vendetta XM (and the EVO XM for that matter) are not that bad. Better pickups solve lots of problems and they're decently playable.

no mesa. He HAS used mesa but that was a long time ago. he has used the Bogner Uberschall extensively for a few years now

edit: TS, the best one on that list is the Jackson Kelly, although i highly advise you look at some Schecters

well looking at your list, your not trying to spend alot. so suggesting a ZV or SG artist model isnt going to do a whole lot. (and whats the point to have a $250 amp, and a $900 dollar guitar...its not going to sound much better going through the amp).

How much are you trying to spend? i wouldnt advise the low end deans. the epiphones could get you there...if you swap the pickups to some EMG's or high out-put Seymour Duncans. so toss out the epis too

agreed that kelly series jackson looks like it could do the job, but there is still others to look at.

schecter has a few low end guitars that are decent. but really man its alot of preference.

maybe look into Agile guitars. very well priced for what you get, and they should have a model that would do metal fine (havent looked at Agile in a while, so i couldnt tell you what they have.)

the roland can model some metal stuff so it would sound decent...but you wouldnt be no Syn...or a Zacky.

but back on topic. i would look into Schecters...and other jacksons as well. (maybe look at a higher price range and then upgrade the amp later?)

The pickups in that Ibanez GIO (if they're real Dimarzios) would be worth more than what the guy's asking for anyway.
That might be worth looking at.

Here is a direct tip - probably the best one you will get on here....

You will NEVER sound like A7x, for the simple reason that it's literally all in the fingertips. Seriously. Satriani sounds like satriani because of his personal style, as does dime, Vai, Eric Johnson, George Lynch.... Ok, knowing and realizing THAT, it is pretty obvious that you can't sound like someone else, unless you BECOME them. I don't see that happening anytime ever, so...

Basically, create on your own.

Schechter Diamond Series Synyster Custom, £979. The Standard is £666.

Or one of the Schechter ZV guitars.

They are apparently exactly the same as Syn and Zacky uses, so if you get the right amp, a bogner I think, you cant get sound,
