I recently bid on a peavey classic 30, didnt win it, but i really am not sure what to look for. I like classic rock, acdc guns n roses, ozzy, led zeppelin, hendrix, and others. Id like to keep it around 350 at most. id like to buy used to keep it cheap. recommendations?

I actually just scored one on eBay for $325+shipping (just made a post about it too ). A Classic 30 or maybe even a used Marshall DSL401 (maybe a little harder to find for that cheap) if you're looking for more of a British voiced amp (Hendrix, Rhodes, etc.) Keep looking, you'll find it soon. I'd still suggest the Classic 30. Lovely amp.

yeah i seen your thread. i just lost on it today around 4. :\ i hate reserve not met ****

If you don't plan on gigging look for Blackstar HT-5 combo. Its a little 5 watt tube amp and its sick. I've played one before and got a sick tone before i even eq'd it. It can get all the tones you talked about easily. You won't get really clean cleans at a very loud level but its possible. You'll be heard over a drummer in small jams in stuff if he plays really soft, but it really gets killer tone.

If you're in the UK look into Laney VC30. Ilove this amp and would work very very well for you!

Otherwise, yeah a marshall DSL might be worth a look into. Although you could try a Traynor YCV40/50 or something or other (can't remember!). Tiny Terror. Even look into some of the Hiwatt tube series. I played one fairly recently. It was tube and had spanking cleans and a nice warm drive. Would suit the Led Zep / Hendrix a treat!
