Hey, so i'm still using the strings that came with my guitar (which i got in july 2008) so i believe they are in due for a change so im going to go buy some strings tomorrow
i know absolutely nothing about guitar strings, so some help would be great

my friend uses D'addario XL Nickel Wound, are they any good?

i have a Dean ML
i play metal such as cradle of filth, opeth, metallica, dimmu borgir e.t.c
and i use the tunnings drop C, drop D and standard

so could someone please reccomend some decent strings for me
thankyou
Dean

I use earnie ball strings 10-46 for my Les Paul, which is either in standard or Eb tuning

and Dunlop 10-52 (light top heavy bottom) for my Schecter, which I use for dropped tunings

it's really a personal choice and preference. i use either ghs boomer or ernie ball extra slinkys.my les paul gets the super light gauge and my washburn gets a slightly heavier gauge, cause of the trem. nothin really wrong with the daddario's your choice. however i think you may want to go with a slightly heavier gauge since you detuning so far. that low c is a long way down
All my guitars are old enough to buy beer, are You?

EDIT: will they be like loose for the Drop C my current strings get a bit loose wen i tune to C, so im hesitant

Nah, I just loosen them at the machine head, then the saddle then Bam, and the string is gone =D
If you have a hardtail/tuneomatic or whatever, once you losen the machine head, bam, it'll slide out =D

Lol... Machine Head =P
