this is the most confusing thread i've ever seen. correct yourself, ts, if you want help

Saying the Red Hot Chili Peppers have no talent is like saying Guy Fawkes didn't have an epic mustache.
#19
wow, sorry for all the confusion...

my guitar was way out of tune so i just played around until what matched up was :

1st sting and
second sting were same
my third was the same as my second on the fifth
my fourth was the same as the third sting on the 7th fret
my fith was the same as my fourth on the 5th fret
my 6th string sounded the same as my 5th string on the 2nd fret
#20
I get it, but I don't know what tuning it is. Does it sound good?

i know what you are trying to say. let me work this out

assuming your high e is tuned to e and not something random...

1 - high E
2 - high E
3 - B
4 - middle E
5 - uhh.. lower B? one step above a (what it should be) maybe?
6 - A

i think thats correct

if youre high e is tuned to something other than e (if you ****ed with the knob) then its the same in terms of steps, just relative to whatever its tuned to

The tuning can't be determined from what you're saying. We would need to know the tune of at least one string to know, because they're all relative.

Then instead of being retarded, make your third string sound the same as the second string when it's on the fourth fret and your remaining strings when the fifth is fretted. =.=

he's not trying to get to standard idiot. he just wants to know what tuning he's in without a tuner.

is there really such thing as a "fake" tuning?

I mean, in reality, you can tune to whatever you feel like. who's to say it's incorrect?

Okay. I'm sorry if people like to play in "real" tunings their guitar make when they get detuned to god-knows-what...

what are you trying to say?

if someone enjoys playing in whatever weird tuning more than standard, then let him do it. stop it with your stupid standard nazi crap.

I call mod trickery!

Like that thread where the "guy" was complaing about how people tabbed open notes as the 5th fret on the string lower than it.

You thought I forgot, but I didn't. I didn't.

did anyone else catch the excessive use of "sting" save for the last line?

EDIT: also he stated that he didn't have a tuner and therefore didn't say exactly what note the (originally) e and B strings play now so his tuning could be a number of possibilities.
