Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this topic, but I have written a lead guitar/ riff- thingie and I was wondering what scale it is in ( so I can write the rest of the song easier).
The notes are D# F G A A# C D D#.

Thanks a lot.
Oh, and sorry if this is the wrong place.

Far more likely the song is in the relative major or minor.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

Thank you. I'll post the riff/lead/harmony/melody/whatever thing soon. Maybe you can give me some feedback?

EDIT: Does anyone know any metal musicians/songs that play the Lydian mode a lot? I think it sounds pretty cool, I like the mode.

Thanks. It's gonna be melodic death metalish. A lot like Mors Principium Est / Kalmah.
As mentioned in my previous comment, do you know any bands/ songs that play a lot of things with the Lydian mode? I like the mode!

Okay. I'm gonna record it at my friend's house soon, since my amp sucks. I prefer a Marshall stack( his dad owns a music store) to my rusty ol' $20 amp
I'll post a topic with the link soon

Everyone says it´s Eb lydian..?
Everyone doesn't realise that modes rely completely on context, which we don't know exists therefore a simple major scale is more correct.

Even if it was somehow modal (which it most likely isn't), how would that help you? No offence, but if you can't distinguish a key then modes are completely unhelpfull to you.

Demon says that everyone is talking about that lydian because you put Eb like the first note. If you put F, everyone would be talking about F mixolydian.

And you asked ''What scale is this?''. It's Bb major.

And you can't talk about modes without context, but I think modes aren't really relevant here.

And it's not like everyone says Eb Lydian.

demon is absolutely correct, calling that a mode without seeing the rest of the music makes no sense. If you had told us what chords you were playing over, that might have indicated otherwise.
Practice. Play. Sleep. Repeat.

apologies for hijacking, but stumbled upon these bastardisations...

A Bb C D Eb F G#

anyone have any ideas what it is?

this as well:

A Bb C# D Eb F# G

they sound rather tasty...

Well, both scales have three chromatic tones in succesion (G# - A - Bb in first, C# - D - Eb in second), so it's not any diatonic scale.

Is any of those chromatics maybe a passing note?

Technically (I take the 1st note as a logical built chord)

A Locrian natural 7th

I just played this scale, and it has a cool sound in my opinion over a AmM7 chord

This you could call an A Mixolydian b2.

Playing it over an A7b9 chord.
