Hey, I'm a Intermediate level guitar player, Been playing on and off for a couple years but really got into it 9 months ago.

I 'm still playing my Gio Ibanez Beginner guitar (I really have no idea what model it is) and I was thinking of buying a Fender telecaster,

Is it worth buying?

(Btw, I would be playing stuff like Santana, AC/DC, Steve miller, The Strokes on it )

Yes.

Just yes.

But i do believe that is a 1975 tele that costs 336,000 yen.

Which is $3.5k.

So im guessing it isnt that specific model, what tele are you looking at? Budget?

Hopefully around 1,200 U.S dollars or less? I'm just lookin for a good 2nd guitar. If the Telecaster is too expensive I might consider buying an Epiphone Les paul or something.

You will not get better sound by getting a better guitar and keeping that amp.

You REALLY should split the money to get a decent amp and a decent guitar instead of just on great guitar.

Just get a mexican tele. I just got a blackout tele and it's great. However, stuff like santana and ac/dc might sound a little weird. Teles have alot of twang, sometimes its annoying if that's all you play. For a cheap alternative get a $400 mexican tele and a $150 epiphone class A tube amp and it'll sound great for $550... on the clean channel at least.
