Hey there, im not sure if this is in the wrong forum, but wth, the mods can move it if it pleases them

Now then, ive just gotten into a band for BotB, which may become permanent, and, they way it sounds just now, its going to a combination of some strange synthy music (we DO have an omnichord) and indie-pop, and i was wondering which pedals would suit those styles most

Also, who's the best make to go to for bass pedals?

I use a Boss ME-50B, if you can afford it it'll cover you for most styles effects-wise, but you're looking around £150...

EBS, boss, digitech, Mxr are just a couple of the more evreyday ones, then you get more boutique stuff and much more dedicated, best to go try stuff out and see what suits you.
Yamaha TRB1006
Fender MIA jazz bass
Hora Hybrid double bass
Hartke lh 500
Ev 606L
Epiphone les paul

cool, i reckon my local shop has mostly Boss, but like, without going multi-effects,what would be the best way to build a soundboard for those styles? As in, which effects would be good?

If you can't think of what you want to use, and places to use it, don't get it. Getting pedals for the sake of it is an expensive and useless pastime.

well see now, i know the kind of sound i WANT, its going about getting it thats the trouble...

i suppose im loking for a very full bass sound to fill the gaps between the synth and guitarm and also, i'll need to cut through when we go all indie....if that makes sense?

you sound like you want a clean, relatively flat EQ, maybe a little mid boosting if your bass isn't quite strong enough and bass boosting, just a tad.

if you want a pedal, get a boss tuner. your clean sound is what you want.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

If you want to cut through the mix at times a fuzz or overdrive pedal would be what you need. For fuzz take a look at the Bass Big Muff from Electro-Harmonix, for overdrive a Boss OBD-3 or Digitech Bass Driver would be good and cost effective

This.
If you don't know what you want, then you most likely don't need it.

EHX small stone...

You also want to change your pickups to a Darkstar in the bridge and a Dimarzio P-120 in the extreme neck
"Whats that noise??"
