So my birthdays coming up and i've decided to get a new amp. Im looking for a nice tube amp that will last me.

My budget is $950 or below, but saved money is nice.

So far i've narrowed it down to a amp from one of these series:

-Valveking

-B-52

I'm now just not sure of which model to go with from either series.

I'm right now in a band and hopefully getting some gigs soon so I want this thing loud enough to be heard. I'd prefer a head and cabinet, but if the combos are alot better for the price then i'll go with that.

Also my influences are avenged sevenfold, bullets for my valentine, korn, muse, guns n' roses. Mainly the first ones though.

I wanna try to get as close to Syns tone though as possible because that is what most of our songs need and also i play alot of their covers.

Go!

for $950
you could get a used XXX or 5150.
and you could save $100-$350 saved for a great cab (if you buy the 5150 head or the XXX head)

but if you buy the combo then you could save alot of money for stompboxes

I already have enough stompboxes so im set on that. The only problem is that if i buy one of those nice heads used, i'll have it for atleast a few months with out anything to play it though.

If you have $950 saved, why would you have to wait a few months to get a cab?
Feel free to call me Kyle.

i would shy away from the vavleking personally, ebcause you can get a lot better for $950, and i've heard of a lot of reliability issues with b-52's. i would look at what WTF!!is a tab and TNfootballfan62 are saying. also, if you'd rathe rnot buy used, just go to guitar center and put in your money amount.

*remember* you dont HAVE to use all of that money, even if you can't find something else to buy. buy something that will be something that you can use rather than just something really big and loud that you will never be able to turn up past two.

i hope that helps!

sir, i would like to inform you that you are now my favorite UGer. Not only did you use the word y'all, which is native to my homeland, but you correctly punctuated it using the apostrophe.

Well, if I had $950 I would agree that you can do better. Is that for a head and cab? Anyway, I'm not sure where you are exactly but here is some stuff to look through. No particular order either, I just started at the top (most recent) and read thru. Craigslist is great for finding gems like these. I would rather do this then settle for something less just because it was brand new. In most cases, you won't need a warranty on these amps anyway. Good luck.

Yeah, for 950$ american, I would imagine there are alo of possibilities open to you. The US can get some great gear deals, almost anywhere as well. You just have to be a little patient and look around and do some research before you buy. Which is something you should always do with new gear anyways.
