I have a Gibson Les Paul (See specifics for my very simple gear.)

I am trying to produce a tone that kind of has a quack in it. It isn't the wah pedal type of quack. It's the kind of tone you would hear in bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin and other bands during that time.

A perfect example of the quack tone would be any recording of Crossroads by Cream (DURING their career), Led Zeppelin during the Madison Square Garden Concert in 1973 and the intro licks in Wooden Ships by Crosby Stills and Nash and Hush by Deep Purple.

Don't tell me about the type of guitar they used.

For a cream like tone you could crank your amp to 10 and roll back your tone to 1 on the guitar.

bridge pickup, treb 6, mid 9, low7. play with that it varies from amp to amp
the older you do get the more rules they're gonna try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep livin' man, L-I-V-I-N.

haha don't worry man. Save up for one. It took me a good 2 years of saving up to buy a used one on ebay for 2 grand. I love it to death though. Buying the Bluesbreaker took another year of saving. It is heavy as hell though haha
