How the hell would megadeth headline, theyre nowhere near popular enough

Ac/Dc will never happen, its been rumoured every year since i can remember, before it was called download

considering whenever they tour they play small venues

and last time they played download in 07, they played mainstage mid afternoon, nothings changed since then

and theyre nowhere near hitting the top 100 best selling bands of all time

Megadeth is huge. They were asked to headline in 2007, but they declined.

Does anyone know if it will be straeamed online this year though?

Only if LoG were headlining then i'd be a happy bunny.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Download_Festival#Download_2009

"The 2009 Download festival is due to take place on the 12-14th of June at Donington Park. Self Confirmed bands at this time are Lamb of God, Heaven and Hell and God Forbid."

Hmm, these bands all include something about religion in their band names

Your talking out of your arse, theres a reason megadeth play small venues when they play here, because they can only sell out that kind of venue

My city is home to the largest arena in europe, and all the headliners of 07 sold out the arena in a very short time

To put into perspective, the size of the arena, and the bands that have played there that also playemainstage download that year

M.E.N arena - 22,000 capacity - MCR, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden sold out easily

Manchester Apollo - 3,500 capacity - Dream Theater, Billy Talent, Lamb Of God, Slayer sold out quickly

Manchester Accademy - 2000 capacity - Dragonforce, Dimmu Borgir, Within Temptation

My room- 4 capacity

Still not sold out yet

Megadeth AND Metallica?
Yeah...
right

This was in Chicago I know but to reply to this guy who posted the thing about that MEN arena thing

The Allstate arena (it has the most consecutive sold out shows in the world) Iron Maiden sold out, AC/DC sold out 2 shows in less than 30 seconds (went on sale at 4:30 and sold out before 4:31), Metallica sold out both shows, Slipknot will probably sell it out soon.

Normal concert seating chart (18,500 people):

Metallica (25,000 people):

I dont know why you did this, what i said was showing that megadeth dont have a big enough audience here to play mainstage, and compared what kind of place mainstage acts play, and what kind of place megadeth plays

Megadeth played 5th on the Friday in 2007. Below Dragonforce, Wolfmother, Velvet Revolver and MCR. They weren't offered it.

ACDC will do neither Download or Reading + Leeds because. they're doing a stadium tour here in summer.

Slipknot HAVE been offered Download. Whether they accept i dunno, they have to make up for missing Reading and Leeds last year.

Metallica are booked up over the Download weekend and played Reading and Leeds last year. They'll do neither.

Bands i think will play Either or both of Download and Reading/Leeds:
Fall Out Boy
Killswitch Engage
Trivium
Billy Talent
Megadeth
Funeral for a Friend
Lamb of God (Confirmed for DL)
The Prodigy
Lostprophets

Actually, they were asked to be much, much higher on the bill in 2007, but they Dave Mustaine declined, wanting to be lower down the bill. Similarly, Korn were also asked to headline the main stage, but the band wanted to play the 2nd stage.
