So I have these house speakers which doesn't handle bass too well. The problem is the chipboard cover on the back is rattling (for testing purposes, I'm playing an E2 at about 'garage band practice' volume). I tightened all the screws on the back, which helped a bit.

I'm thinking about:
-Taping over the edge of the board and areas where it is crumbling
-Driving some extra screws to hold the board in

Which of these/what else would work? N.B. The speakers are already pretty ghetto-fabulous and I don't particularly care how they look.

Doesn't that just make the bass leak all over your walls where you can't hear it? I could always roll off the bass with EQ, but I want it to be louder, and I think the speakers can handle a bit more.
