Ok, so I just answered a thread in the GG&A forum about impedance matching on tube amps and running a mismatched load...

So I got to thinking about my amp, in which I am currently running a mismatched load (basically I'm running the amp at 16 ohms into an 8 ohm load) to compensate for the fact that the 8k primary of my OT is way too high for el34s. Running a mismatch brings the primary impedance that the power tube "sees" down to 4k, which is much better for running an efficient power stage. I'm just curious if any ill effects are happening to my OT, many people have pretty much assured me that it's safe, and I don't doubt that the OT I'm using is fairly robust, however, I just want to make sure.
