Monolith DeathCult, Septic Flesh, and Agalloch are the ones I really like up their.

Those specific Meshuggah, Amon Amarth, In Mourning, and Mirrorthrone albums I don't mind. Not necessarily mind blowing.

Rest I couldn't care less for.

Shit.

Board Up the House never got enough points.

But, seriously, who DIDN'T see Traced in Air winning? It was on just about every list but mine.

I hated it.

Loved Focus.

I didn't even bother to make a list. Wouldn't have been productive.

I never listened to Traced in Air, because I wasn't REALLY impressed with Focus.

I mean, it's a good album, and I love the things they did on it, but I just wasn't blown off the planet like, seemingly, everyone else was.

So, I just didn't listen to it.

TiA is nothing like Focus though, you should check it out.
When have I ever steered you wrong?

Well, there was that one time when...... no, nevermind, I loved "Pyramids".

......

OH! What about that one time when you....... No, "Split" was amazing, as well.

I just realized that the metal forum has terrible taste in metal.

Death Magnetic.....seriously?

The rest is pretty terrible also.

Death Magnetic shouldn't be up there. Shrouded Divine should be higher. Apparently I'm the only one here who's heard the new Hieronymus Bosch.

Regardless, the list is pretty good.
#18
Hehe, Death Magnetic was the only thing on my list that made it.

Also shows how much love for power metal there is here. The Scarecrow was unbelievably good
#19
All but one of those albums is wank.
The latest Ironsword album should be #1.

Well there was some obvious ones (Metallica, AA, Opeth Meshuggah etc), but I'm pleasantly surprised that both Sagas and Trivmvirate got a place on the list.

But where is Cliteater? Scream Bloody Clit was ballin'.

No Gates of Slumber and Arghoslent = fail. Death Magnetic being on there was also fail. The list had some good albums on it though.

Exact same thing in my case.

I would've voted Acid Witch for numero uno, or Septic Flesh...but I forgot of both of them until after 2009 had started...oopsies. TiA is a decent album anyways. Good job with putting it all together, those who helped

Funny how everyone says Cynic are overrated now. They deserve the attention they are getting. Two years ago, people wouldn't be saying this, at least most of them.

I don't think they're overrated, I just don't think they're any good.
#35
Well that's perfectly fine.
The term overrated seems to be thrown around quite a bit about the album though. Sure, it has a lot of hype, which may get annoying to people who don't like the album, but I think it has an appropriate amount of hype for a (imo) great album and the band's first in 15 years.
#36
the only one up there i would ever have voted for would be the monolith deathcult

i also dont understand the love for that septic flesh album, nothing pissed me off more in 2008 than that album, and i fuckin nearly got run over last year

Oh yeah?!

..Well, uh, YOU'RE overrated! Ahaha! How does that feel bitch?!

In all seriousness though, it's a pretty good list, fairly well-rounded which is what I base the definition of a "good list" upon usually, not by which albums I agree upon to be up there, however, I do feel slightly more kvlt knowing that only 1 out of the 5 albums I voted for got up there.

I was a little surprised that Gangrene got up there, not in a bad way, it deserves the spot, just I hadn't seen people talk about in ages and thought everyone had forgotten about it since it came out the first day of '08.
