I just bought a new Schector acoustic guitar. I played it in the store, but I didn't play the High E string lower than the 7th fret. When I got it home I found that any note below the 7th fret mutes itself on the lower frets. What can I do to fix this problem? Thats the only string with that problem.

Adjusting the Truss rod can help, the problem most likely is that in cold weather guitars made of wood can get messed up by the dryness of the air.

Well next time test it more. Or just bring the guitar and the receipt and start again/

u gotta file dem bad boys down gorge, ur best off taking it to a music shop n tell them the problem, most guitar shops take it off ya n fix it for ya tho (for a fee o'course!)

When you saw 'lower' do you mean towards the nut or towards the saddle from the 7th fret?
