Just a simple bio. question. Why does the left ventricle of the human heart contain more muscle than the right? Does it have to do with blood flow?

The left ventricle has to pump blood all the way around the body, whereas the right ventricle only has to pump blood to the lungs. This is also why the aorta is so thick - to deal with the higher pressure from the left ventricle.
The left one sends the blood out in your body, and thus needs to have more power.
