I voted black. mainly because I think the honey looks too much like all of the wood molding in my house. it doesn't look like an instrument to me in color, more like furniture. probably why I don't like "natural" colored basses too.

now if it was green...

I wish they'd make more green basses

I think I'd prefer black out of the two choices, but I've never actually seen one in that color and it doesn't look like it would show fingerprints as much as a glossy black finish.

I think the black finish makes the bass look a bit cheaper, but I can't stand gold hardware, so I voted black.

Mine is black cherry, though, with chrome hardware. Best ever.

a tough decision, went with honey.

I must say, that if it had been elite's, there would be no votes for the orange one, it is rather ugly in comparison to the black cherry.

and I own the thing.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

i had to make this decision when i got my schecter studio. Went for the honey and never regretted it. A truly beautiful bass. A couple chicks have commented on it too. Not only does it play well and sound good, but it can be used as a chick magnet. lol

They black looks amazing, the honey looks ok. Can i suggest you use rock, paper, scissors to work it out? Its worked for me many times when I havent cared about the outcome of a decision.

write the name of each color on a piece of paper 10 times. cut each name out individually so you have 20 little pieces of paper then draw them out til there's only 1 left. you could always take the first one you picked, but then, why make 20 pieces of paper if you do that?

The black looks a bit "metal" for my liking, which usually wouldn't be a problem, but the guitar is really not shaped in a "metal" way. Also that honey satin is the sex.

I'd like the black finish better if the hardware was gold. It would do for quite a nice contrast. Either way I like both, and I came very close to purchasing it in Honey Satin(I changed my mind due to pricing, but I'll most likely pick it up sometime in the near future).

I have the studio 5 in honey satin, and it looks much oranger then the picture on the site, but I still love it to death. The satin gold hardware is sweet too, but it wears off rather quickly, most of the gold on the top of the bridge has worn off on mine in about 3 months. I still think it looks sweet

Honey Satin with black coated strings.

That would scream Jazz and Metal at the same time.
I don't know what I'm doing, but I still do it anyway...

Ah man this is such a tough choice. I saw this one pic on google in the sun that made the black look amazing. And the Honey Satin looks like a floor and alot different then it did on the site.

ahh i hate decisions.
