Schecter's website now sports a countdown to next Saturday at midnight (Eastern time), labelled "Schecter Guitar Research '09... The Revolution Starts In:".

Predictions? Comments?

Fingers crossed for something really sexy with passives and no tremolo.

I saw an ad in GW for some revolution thing... guess we'll have to wait and see. Might change what I'm currently saving for if it's good enough.

hopefully they come up with a new body shape, not just a continuation of the blackjack stuff. im gettin bored of that.

website is under major reconstruction. As some might remember the old site needed some major work..

expect in 09:
- blackjack atx V-1 FR
- 8string hellraiser c-1's (available in FR)
- new Ultra classic
...amongst others..

rumours are that Schecter will also release a tricked up LP killer this year, so very much looking forward to that.

Wait, if you like the hardtail, you won't get it?

EDIT: I imagine the only 8 they'll release is hardtail.

I will still get it. It's just if there is a 8-string FR I would rather get that... I think.

Edit: If there is a Les Paul, i will cream my pants with jealousy.

From the looks of the design of the site they might be coming out with pedals.. perhaps they'll go back to manufacturing their own pickups too - some of the best pickups of the 70's came from them. Schecter pickups are what Ritchie Blackmore used in his strat back in the day.

... I just thought of something..

What if, at the end of the countdown, a link popped up...

Everyone clicks the link, thinking "ZOMG NEW SCHECTER GUITARZZ!!one!!11!synystergates!!1!eleven!"

And...

RICK ROLL!!!

Could you imagine?

I need to access the old homepage for guitar specs... How do I do that?...

I predict this is just a big marketing trick to make the audience warm for a minor change to one or more existing models. Just like gibson did with their 'revolutionary' robot guitar and darkfire :/

I'm not going to loose sleep over this, that's for sure.

Btw, people, don't get your hopes up. It's the same as it was before the "revolution" was in the works.

hopefully they make hellraisers with better quilts and an ebony feet board... That would be sweet

Yeah, since Schecter is so original as is.

^^Schecter has a V, it's a hellraiser.

probably the "revolution" means Schecter becoming an overpriced brand like gibson and stuff.

where did you get that is what i want to know.

it might be a full custom shop where you can specify your guitar right down to the body shape (i'm getting my hopes up).

most likely a line of pedals, and possibly amps.

Those singlecuts look ugly as hell, I hope they aren't real.

Schecter seriously needs to stop bastardizing everything in abalone.
