I love Ozzy and Zakk, but being a huge Hendrix fan as well, I just did not like Zakk's take on the song.

I'm trying to get used to it, but I can't at the moment xD.

I think Ozzy's voice is fine for the song, it's just Zakk's incessant pinch harmonics that ruin it.

Pick your acoustic back up, Zakk.

Arcade Fire's cover of Yeah Yeah Yeahs song Maps

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcA7mWq7Nw4

With all of the talent in that band they could have turned it into something even better than the original, instead they turned it into a pile of mush and suck.

Guns n Roses - Live and Let Die ... they should have just let than one die, it was a note for note cover of the original and I just can't stand it.

Adding to that (and the guy above me's point): Guns n Roses - all of the Spaghetti Incident.

I quite like it, if I hadnt heard the original id totally take to it, but seeing as i have heard the original this seems not so great

Semi-agree'd.
I'd say Cradle of Filth's cover of "Mr. Crowley", but they're not really all that great.

I thought that was pretty good actually. Dave's solo was less than extraordinary, but on the previous circumstances (didn't he have some type of damage to his fretting hand/arm?) it was ok.

That reminds me, Dream Theater's cover of Comfortably Numb with Queensryche.. when LaBrie forgot the words xD. "This is not how I am.... this is not how I am..." xD.

This, and Machine Head's cover of Hallowed be Thy Name.
There hath he lain for ages and will lie,
Battening on huge seaworms in his sleep;
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

He knew that he had damage to his arm/hand and shouldn't have even tried, especially when there was MICHAEL FUCKING ROMEO on that tour.

It was relatively recent, certainly after they got big at least: on a few of their tours they've done whole album covers as their encore, I think they've also done Deep Purple, Pinky Floyd and a few others...
