im looking for some pedals , i have a metal muff and a wah, and the metal muff is good for metal playing, and the wah is good for all, but im starting to write like alt-rock sort of stuff, and i can get the right distorted sound, so what other pedals should i look into, sort of nirvana, RATM, white stripes. rise against, sort of stuff?

A big muff is definitely a good start. So is good amp overdrive.

A Big Muff or a Duncan Tweak Fuzz would be good. White Stripes and RATM stuff requires a Whammy pedal, but its really not all that useful. Cobain used a Boss DS-1, so maybe try that out, even if it really isnt too great.

the Marshall Guvn'or pedal is an excellent pedal for alternative. it gives that pearl jam tone if that's what you're into. i also heard that tom morello used it. anyway, it's got a really good tone, is versatile, affordable, and solid. good luck.

That's a cool pedal, but different than what you're looking for.

I got a few distortion pedals. You just got to find your own sound. Just keep tweaking them to find it. I usually go with the reliable Boss DS-1 for most of my sound. I also use a MT-2 and a OD-1 just for different distortion options. Just go to a store and try a bunch out til you find the one you can mess with to get your sound.

i guess the best would be the big muff, since the others are stripped down to be less expensive.. i didn't like the nano when i tried it, personally i would say go for the big muff, check out the USA and the russian one
maybe a phaser also ? i went to the store, i told the dude ''i want a pedal with a cool sound''
he said ''you wanna try a phaser ? this one is cool''
he gives me some boss one
i go ''nah, gimme the mxr phase 90 instead, i'll try it''
took me 5 minutes to fall in love with it and i got the script one, it's never turned off in my rig.
