I'm looking to buy an Ibanez and I wanted to get some insight on some good models. I've had my eye on the RG5EX1, I haven't tried it in the store yet but it seems to have a thin neck and body which is definitely what I'm looking for. I'm not entirely sure about the pickups though, my friend said Ibanez stocks are pretty decent. I play anything from classic rock to thrash so I don't really want a guitar that's solely for metal, but I do want something that could give me a good metal tone when I want it as well as a good rock tone.

well, that'd probably do everything you wanted then. i've got the rg4ex1, and it'll do anything and everything i need it to. can't imagine they'd take that away on the next step up.
Kodiak bears make awesome bandmates.

The RG4 is about $100 more than the RG5 so would that be a better investment?

P.S Is there a difference between the RG4EX1 and the RG4EXFM1?
