me and same mates have got together and are in desperate need of songs to play!

we were guna do elemeno p verona. but we could only find guitar tabs so we gave up on that pretty quick.

we want something pretty easy to start off with. we arent all masters of anything.

we are more into the rock kidna genre but wil swing for some metal

if anyone could throw some ideas our way that would be AWESOME!!!

cheers

Why not jam with improv... experiment a little. Get someone to play a progression, get the drummer to lay down a beat (with fills), and if you're lead then do your thing over that.

It's a good way to exercise your creative muscle a little and to see what the others are like and the dynamics of the band.

or you could just play power chords like every other new band these days.

try some stuff by the hold steady, it is all fairly simple, and definitely falls under the banner of rock.
aside from that, poppy stuff like blink 182 and green day might go down well...

Paranoid.
There hath he lain for ages and will lie,
Battening on huge seaworms in his sleep;
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

Way to generalise.

Paranoid.

Yeah this is a good starter song for band jam.

Also, no doubt you didn't find any Elemeno P tabs :P
They suck anyway.

Just try simple stuff like above mentioned song and also, like some other guy said, figure out the dynamics by seeing what your drummer does, the other guitarists etcetera and roll with it...
*shrugs* I don't know...

Easy song that is more rock compared to Metal, Enter Sandman - Metallica.

It's a good choice. Fairly easy, and quite popular (but not their best).

I heard someone say that Fall Out Boy had amazing guitarwork. But, it was a 13 year old girl, so it didn't matter.

if you guys aren't masters and want to play something "fast" just do a progression and mess around, like someone else said. Most songs take a while to learn (and by that, I also mean memorize). Welcome Home by Coheed is your best bet though. It sounds good and its easy (except the solo, for me anyways). I've been playing that for like 2 years. Its a good foundation.
