Can someone please suggest a way of making the tone of my guitar sound similar to that of Carlos Santana. I have a replica Fender Stratocaster and a 15 amp practice Amplifier. Would changing the Pick-Ups help or perhaps an improved Amplifier or is there maybe a plug in gizmo which would do the trick?

new amp, and plug in gizmo's would get the closest... new guitar eventually unlesss its reallly bad. the gizmo's are called effects. i would say don't try to replicate a tone, it'll cost you a ton of money.. the only way to do it is to buy the exact gear. just play with what you have until you develop more
My Guitars:
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Epiphone AJ
Ibanez Strat Copy

Amps:
Orange Tiny Terror Head
Old beaten up Peavey cab
Marshall MG30DFX

oh god. I hate carlos' tone.
just put a heap of treble on everything and do real cheesy bends and overly obvious vibrato.

If you're not going to be helpful, you might as well not post in here, ok?

Now, thread starter, you might want to take this to the Electric Guitar forum:
