1. So my friend just recently got a tenor sax, Ive already learned how to transpose and play on a few scales together. I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent sax/bass songs for us to learn to get a better feel of playin with each other before we move on to other ventures?

2. I have on old 4 string silvertone layin around that needs a new neck on it. How hard would it be to convert it to a 5 string while i have it taken apart? i know ill need a 5 string neck and a new bridge with longer pick ups. also is it possible to get it to have the spacing of a 4 string?

Thanks for the help in advance

1. go find some jazz, funk, or even funk-jazz, that incorporates both parts.
2. you can change the neck. you cannot easily do the strings.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

I don't know if you're into Jazz, but alot of Duke Ellington's stuff is great for walking bass lines and tenor sax melodies.

And check out Tower of Power, though quite a few of Rocco Prestia's bass lines are rather challenging.

i think it would be less expensive if you just bought a 5-stringed bass rather than taking apart your 4 string and making it a 5

am i right?

indeed, probably better built.
