Hi Right,

Best metal setup for about £200,

Having tried out the cube 30x do I go for that for playing all kinds of metal and some clean or a:

Peavey Vypyr 30
Valve junior metal muff/metal zone

I can't try these but am interested in anyone who has this kind of rig

TS: Have you tried out any Valvekings? IMO they're pretty good for metal, especially if you have an overdrive.

Well, its not the valve junior... The metal muff is a fantastic pedal, and works "ok" with my Laney valve amp. But as my amp isn't voiced for metal, it just isnt all the way there. The valve junior is even more less suited for metal!

Go for the vyper all the way! If not, another choice is the Valvetronix XL series by Vox. They're pretty good!

There good for metal ONLY if you have an overdrive. Without it, its nothing.


I say go with the Vox already suggested, great amp.

Get the Vox Valvetronix AD30VT-XL then, its basically the same but 1x12 and 30 watt instead of 2x12 and 50 watts.
