Hey,
I'm speaking for my friend yet again. He's now definitely set on Loomis sig, but now he's looking for an amp. We're talking around 800-900 bucks. He's playing metal (obviously), and since the guitars has EMGs it's going to have to be a tube amp. Not really anything too huge since it's going to be used mostly for bedroom playing. We were circling around the Marshall DSL 401. Any other suggestions?

What kind of metal does your friend play? Do you need versatility?

The DSL401 I've played seem to be really fizzy and thin; not really good for metal! Also I wouldn't really recommend it with a 7 stringer, you need a good amp that can support that B with clarity in your playing.

I think we're talking mostly COB/In Flames territory.

I'd probably +1 that too.
