well yeh this is my first guitar build and i will be using a maple strat neck (not sure what type) for the neck.
any comments on the design are welcome and i keep it updated with pics as the build progresses.
1. what pickups for a really clean sound?
2. any carved top bits? (my dad will help)
3. GENERAL ADVISE?

are those neck dimensions right?
do you have all the tools?
will you paint it?
dont go directly off those pups sketches
good luck
Just call me Julius, J, etc.
Taking an Internet break for a while, will come on when I can.

why don't you ask us what we think of it when its properly measured out?
Makes sense to me...

The wood looks pretty thin

how thick is it?
(solid body)guitars are usually 1 and 3/4 inch thick
by 22" x 13" ish
ME personnaly would flatten out the back a little and reposition those knob place ments.
other the nthat,go and cut it

yep its 1.7 inches thick (i know it doesnt look it and its going to either be stained or left natural (with coating) painting it would ruin it.
the woods are ash (sides) and mahogany (middle) probally really obvious.
thanks

the main purpose of this guitar will be to keep a really nice clean sound, i have an ibanez for metal and rock. hopefully getting the parts soon but likely they will come later in the project.
what pickups would you recommend?

for pups i'd say go with a set of single coils. Lace sensors are great, but expensive. what's your budget?

the left one i would say, then it like a pure brown stripe though the whole guitar

do you always give bad advice?

anyways,it looking good
if it was me,id flatten the rear end up a little bit,but thats just because i dont like semi round
like jazz guitars are ok
esp i find a TOO flat.
im a picky pants
good job so far
the horns look like the ones off of a Joe Satch. sig.

i like this
are you painting it?

EDIT: youre going to cut a little at the bottom right corner of the neck right?
theres like a strip of body i see there

what hardware are you using?
