well about a month ago my computer was like reset or something so all my music movies and programs were gone but theres still no free space on the hard drive which leads me to believe they are all still somewhere on the computer hidden i want to find them so i can delete them

if showing hidden folders doesnt reveal them, chances are they arent there and ur harddrive is reporting the space wrong because of a bad reset. you should probably reformat.

the only other option is boot up with a linux cd. if linux doesnt reveal anything on the drive, its not there.

but if all ur going to do is delete it all anyway, just reformat.

Try UltimateDefrag, it's not only a defragmenter, but shows the parts of the harddrive, sometime good for finding some unrecognized dfiles

On a mac? Unlikely, I'm no Mac expert, but I'm pretty sure Unix based systems can keep their file systems in order on their own, I know Linux based systems definitely can.

It's just Windows that can't seem to keep its file systems in order.
