Just found out about him, his style of shred is relaxing and not just alternate picked 32th notes at 200 bpm.
I had amnesia, but now I cant remember.

Dream Theater rules!

Electric Gypsy > all of his other stuff. The opening is like breaking a girls hyman... Shes in pain but it feels so right... I know that sounds disgusting but its the best way to describe it.

yeah 4 months later i'm still listening to this stuff every day. Ghost of You, A night to remember, All is forgiven is still awesome. and Groove or Die.

gotta get this guy out there more....need more tabs for it too!

too bad that he's not as well known as satch cause i'd say he's just as good in phrasing a good vibe into the music

Timmons is simply amamzing!

If you haven't seen him play, i strongly suggest you download the Ibanez 90th Anniversary video. At the end, Timmons, Gilbert and Vai all play "All Day All Night", (although they add a little twist on it) hehe

Vai's string breaks, however he improvises over it and pulls it off

Timmons' solo is absolutely incredible!

Check it out if you haven't already!

HAha, ye it's a cool performance.

I felt bad for Vai, because he has a floyd.

So if 1 string breaks, all the others are out of tune, cause the strings hold the bridge in place.

^Aside from having 3 kickass players on the same stage, that performance does nothing for me.

I love jamming over the Groove or Die solo section. Gives me a chance to practice some fast triplet runs.
Lost interest.

I like "Deliver Us" the most. He plays one the song's licks for Betcha Can't Play This.

He's actually going to do a clinic here in Hong Kong soon, and I can't wait.

i love his work with Danger Danger!!! Great Melodic Hair Metal sounding stuff

I just discovered Andy a few days ago...man, what a great player! All the wasted years not listening to him. He's really fantastic....I've been digging Resolution mostly....

Good luck

Try to get someone to record it!

However, Andy Timmons is great and his music seems like a fresh breeze to my ears.
I've heard it both ways

I went to guitar lessons today and my guitar teacher talked about his trip to an Andy Timmons masterclass. He got real pissed off, because for 5 hours he spent 1 talking about himself, the next 4 he gave out 4 or 5 sheets that detailed 5 of the 7 modes and the basic pentatonic scales. 200 dollars down the drain.

Just listened to him for the first time. The first album seems cool. But what's all this hype about Electric Gypsy? It's just your basic slow guitar ballad. Carpe Diem is where it's at! I could nod my head and go driving (if I had a licence) to that shit all day.

^ Thaaaat's more like it. I'm not into the sappy guitar stuff right now.

Btw, his tone on Ear X-tacy sounds exactly like Satriani's on The Extremist. Nice!

That's a hard rock band, right? I'll check 'em out. I haven't found many from the '80s that I don't like.

^ So I tried 'em. They're cool.

Horrendous lyrics, but I love this shit.
