I am looking at a Satellite guitar from the late 70s or early 80s. It is a fat strat style with neck through construction and is made out of maple. The owner is asking $400 for it. It seems to be pretty good spec wise for the price. All I have been able to find out about them is that they were MIJ for UK import as beginner guitars. I found a catalog for them, but I have to pay to view it. I guess I just want to know if it would be a good deal. Any opinions?

No one know anything about these? Found out the the maple wood is 11 piece laminate. Is that a bad thing? Here are some pictures:

Really need some advice on this, as I am not as experienced as most people on here seem to be. I just fell in love with the look of the guitar, but I don't want to mistakenly buy a crap guitar just because it is vintage and looks great.
