I'd go fretted though, sound's more suited to my usual playing.

It doesn't look like it would be much bigger than the P-Bass 5-Stringers. Regardless...it would be worth every penny imo.

It's pretty much a guitar tuned down an octave. Have you seen the string spacing on it? Its a joke.

A fender, 24 fret, active, 6 string, Thing, what more could you want. Its seems a good price for it, around 1500 i reckon.

Ya but think about, Fender is doing alot lately, its producing vastily different instruments, its sigs keep getting better( urge 2, this one), its trying hard. Thats why for me it will always reamin high on my list, very close to the top, if not a draw.

Awesome, fender is not one for basses with extra strings (we FINALLY got the pbass 5-er), a good step for the company. I like the use of the strat-style input jack.

I'm impressed and would love to play one, but the width of the neck is gonna be insane. The spacing might be tolerable, but it's gonna be a beast to play.

'Bout time, though. Kudos, Fender.

How dare you all steal from my thread outlining this and clearly showing a fretted version. And other new Fenders.

Anyway, it is good to see that the new price guide is up. And those MSRP's are bullshit - around here, I've been told at a store that they take the American MSRP in Canadian dollars and take off an additional 20%-25%.

I'm pretty unimpressed really, not a massive 6-string fan, and it doesn't look that great. Each to his own I guess.

I was a bit excited when I saw the description, but the proportions on it are all weird... upon second look, wouldn't want one.

EDIT: But hey, at least they didn't give it 20 frets.

dont love six strings. also the neck is thick. i like them skinnier such as a scheter 6 string. where the necks are usually smaller. cool concept but would like it as a smaller neck.

Other than the bass VI? Because that one is tuned like a guitar, not a 6-string bass.

Meh. I'm proud of fender for taking another step toward versatility in their product line but I also think the proportions seem weird. Also, I'd like to see closer string spacing. If the saddles are adjustable side to side then maybe...maybe.
