So my band has a few songs in the works, and one which completely finished. We really want to get it recorded, but we're all 16/17 and don't have jobs, so how would we best go about recording?

Just for now, do what I do. Rock Band mic + Audacity

*Edit*
Don't expect pro quality though but it gets the job done.

I'd wait until you get your other songs down 100% the way you want them to be, that way it'd be easier to record multiple tracks instead of one track every few weeks.

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

Wait until you have everything you want to record done and ready for the studio. Find a cheap studio. Make some money. Record.

Look for someone with a home studio. I do that sort of thing, and I charge $150 for a six-hour day. That sort of a situation is your best quality/price balance you'll get.

Could I get some more talent in the monitors, please?
