I kinda like my emgs on my futura, but what are the Blackouts like? Ive heard great things, but are they really better than EMGs?

Yeah, it basically whatever you like. They sound great, it all depends on what you want your sound to be.
You and I are mortal, but rock n roll will never die.

ive never played the blackouts specifically, but in my experience, duncans tend to give a little more versatility than EMG's. but yes, purely a preference thing. (i do know that mick from slipknot is now using blackouts, if your a slipknot fan)

I think that EMG 60 neck with Blackouts bridge (running 18 volts) is good.
Current Gear:
LTD MH-400 with Gotoh GE1996T (EMG 85/60)
PRS SE Custom 24 (Suhr SSH+/SSV)
Ibanez RG3120 Prestige (Dimarzio Titans)
Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz V
Audient iD22 interface
Peavey Revalver 4, UAD Friedman BE100/DS40

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
