Okay, on the Golden Globes, Heath Ledger beat Robert Downey Jr. for his role as The Joker.

So, lets vote here between Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight, or Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus as Sgt. Osiris in Tropic Thunder.

Honestly, I think Downey deserves this. Yeah, I pretty much knew Heath Ledger was gonna win, but I think what Rober Downey Jr. did was harder to pull off than Heath Ledger, and he pulled it off just as well. I personally don't think it's as hard as it looks to play an insane man. There's so much you can get away with. Rober Downey Jr.'s role was one of those that needed the exact person, and there was a huge chance his role would be a disaster (like "Soul Man").

BLASPHEMY!!!

I really think that Robert was fantastic... but I think that that was easier to pull off then heath ledger actually... you see robert smiling a lot etc. which because it is a comedy he could get away with.

Heath ledger just terrifies you... like jigsaw!

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?

they were both pretty sweet, I loved Iron Man and The Dark Knight, but i guess most people liked Heath Ledger more. They are both great actors (Heath was really good in Candy IMO).

To be honest I'd find it easier playing a stereotypical Patriotic black man over an insane criminal mastermind any day.,

when you pull off an amazing performance like heath you'll be allowed to say that

i believe Heath Ledger (r.i.p) deserves this because he killed the role (in the good way)... seriously his performance was like an album with too many good songs...his performance was so dark and...so real! he made his role was more complicated then just an "insane man"

on the other hand mr. downey jr. was alright but he was nothing exciting, in my opinion..

Uhhh... Downey did a good job, in a crap movie, but Ledger did an awesome job in an awesome movie.

The black seargent has been done and overdone over 9000 times and downey bought NOTHING new to it. And dont say "He playing an aussie playing a black guy", because no. He is playing a stereotypical black seargent dude.

What Ledger did has never been done before, and people will be talking aobut it much longer than some forgettable crappy comedy
Dear diary.

Today I stuffed some dolls full of dead rats I put in the blender.

I'm wondering if, maybe, there really is something wrong with me.

Ledger by a mile. I'm not just saying that because of The Dark Knight, too. Brokeback Mountain was a fantastic movie with some of his best acting too.

Easy playing a madman like Heath did?

I call BS. He did it as well as Jack Nicholson, and that's a friggin achievement.

S#!+, just because a guy is dead, he deserves all the awardsin the world?
Don't get me wrong Ledger's role in Batman was outstanding, but Downey Jr really had an out-of-this-world performance in Tropic Thunder, like TS said...
IMO, like it or not, dead actors should only be eligible for lifetime achievement awards, leaving the actual prize to the living actors. And those lifetime achievements awards should be a different trophy, maybe bigger, or different shape from the regular ones.

Maybe they should dedicate an awards show exclusively to dead people. And zombies.
