what should i get

i already have an Boss SD-1 overdrive
should i keep that or get a zakk wylde OD i played one and liked it

also i was thinking of an EQ pedal and how much can I tweak the sound to get a good 80s tone out of my crate because i can get close but its just like missing something, and i dont have money right now for a marshall jcm

I also thinking of a delay pedal to make my tone sound more full with a slap set up

i can probably get 2 or 3 pedals soon

What style of music do you play? What is the Crate missing that you're going for? Which model of Crate is it? What is your total budget?
Please don't assume I care enough about your guitar rig, your general thoughts on life, the funny things people have said about you, or anything else not related to the topic at hand to have the view signatures option turned on. I don't.

The EQ will be able to make your amp into a completely different beast. If you're looking for a good one, look into the MXR M-108.

If you're looking to play Van Halen, a phaser or flanger is indispensable.

yeh the MXR 10-band EQ or the Kerry King signature are the best EQ pedals out there without going into analogue territory...
getting an EQ is usually a win-win situation, as it's going to let you shape your tone...
put it in the input chain and it'll change the tone of your guitar...
put it in an effects loop and it'll change the characteristics of the amp...

what type of pedal you get is up to you, really...
