Hey i was looking into getting one of these but not into single coil pickups that much. Is it possible to but in a humbucker pickup without doing anything to the body?

P-90s aren't the same as Strat pickups. They're alot warmer and fatter.

If you really don't want one get an Epiphone LP Standard Plus Top instead. The construction quality will be about the same anyway.

Is it possible to get a guitarshop to modify the body for a humbucker. If it is how much do you think it will cost

You might be able look into a P-90 to humbucker conversion ring, but the routing is a bit too small width wise.

Seriously, you'd be better off just getting an Epi with humbuckers.

lp junior + cost of routing + new humbucker = not worth it

you could get a better guitar for that price and not need to do any work on it

Yeah, a Junior isn't an 'upgrade' from an Epi LP. It's basically a completely different guitar with a different feel and a different sound for a different type of playing and use.

If you really want to upgrade from an Epiphone LP to something like a Gibson (or another brand of similar quality), you're going to have to save up more, and go for a Standard. That is the only way you'll actually notice any real difference between your current guitar and your future guitar.

You can actually trim the side of a Humbucker and place it inside a p-90 hole and use the trim ring instead of having to route the body.

You could put a mini-humbucker in place of the P-90.
