ok. so i just a letter of acceptance into this high school. my cousin used to go there and i hear its really nice. he told me that i had 3 choices of different languages that i could choose from, that being spanish, french, and latin. i have to take one language for 2 years.

which ones should i choose? i'm open to any of em really. if you have to take any of the above classes, do you like them? would you pick another in its place?

poll on the way i suppose...

Spanish could probably be more useful in a long run, but Latin also has its advantages.

My uncle speaks it, but I hear it can be difficult.

since when do you have to get accepted into high school. anyways, no one speaks latin, only greasy mexicans speak spanish and the french are ass holes.

Latin will help you in the Vocabulary section of the SAT (trust me), but Spanish seems like the only one you'd actually ever use (or at least here in texas).

Latin for the advantages with vocabulary that may or may not be on standardized tests.

French, man. I speak it, so I'm a little biased. But you can talk to French-Canadians or even real Frenchies! That, and its actually a pretty simple language.

I think spanish. It's easy, and it's more probable that you'll use it in Missisippi than any of the other two.

I took Latin for seven years. It's really helpful with increasiong your vocabulary, especially for the SAT's - if you know the Latin root, you can pretty much figure out what the meaning of the word is, if you don't know it. Aside form that, it isn't spoken so you won't get a lot of practical use, but it's still kind of nifty to know (English takes many phrases directly out of Latin, it's useful for the mythology and all that, etc.).

I've taken French for a year now - it's a beautiful language spoken by a lot of people, and it'll give you a good idea of the culture and history of France.

Though I've never taken Spanish, it's the most widely spoken language of the choices given, and I think the third most spoken in the world? So it'd definitely be useful to know.

Really man, it's your call on what you think would be of the most use to you.

Depnds on what you wnat to do, Latin is great if you are gogin into science, archaeolgoy or history, butnis probakly going to [pretty uselss otherwise,

Spanish is the most common ly spoken language in the world apparently, sop that is a must. Personaly i hated trying to learn French. but i ahd a bad teacher too, and iot always sounds sophisticated and sexy, so for picking up the chicks it wouldn't hurt either!

Personally I highly dislike Spanish, but I've taken it for three years. It's tricky with it's tenses, but you might be able to use it someday if you plan on...seeing some beaners. xD

Amen to anyone who said how hard tenses were in Spanish.
Preterite, future conditional etc... Pain in the ass remembering. But it's still very useful and enjoyable.
