I inherited a Vicente Tatay guitar from my father who (died at 58 in 1998) inherited it from his grandfather. Inside the sound hole is a label that says "Guitarras Espanolas - Valencia Espana" on the ring of the label and "Vicente Tatay - Est. 1861" on the middle of the label (the "-"s aren't actually there). Is this a Vicente original make, or one made from one of his sons? I have looked endlessly and have not found any significant histories for this maker. I really want to know (of course, NOT to sell, it's in crappy physical condition but still plays amazingly, and I want to keep it and pass it on to family in the future). Any help is appreciated!
