All the tubes are lit and have an amber color like glow. The Sound that lets you know an amp's on and sounds like it's ready to go comes on after I power it on. Nothing still. I believe the speaker has been wired weird because there is a 1/4 plug into the 8 ohm that is wired with a split wire to the speaker at the positive and one on the - side? Any clues to proper wiring or the problem?

I don't understand the question. What is this "Sound" you're talking about?

Speaker hookup sounds fine, have you checked the guitar and instrument cable on another amp?

I think he means the slight humming sound of a valve amp when it's on.

TS, You may havea duff cable, input jack, guitar jack...there's so many things it could be. Have you tried different guitars/cables?
