No; they're terrible in terms of build quality and sound. If you want good effects on the cheap, Danelectro are best; the Cool Cats are great, but most Dano pedals are great value for money.

Although the FAB Overdrive and Metal pedals aren't too great, but for the price, you can't expect anything exceptional.

They aren't too bad...I used to own quite a few of them. I think a lot of people give them a bad wrap without playing them. I used mine for two years while gigging and never had a problem with any of them.

Looks don't matter, it's not going to change the tone of the pedal

But good luck finding the right pedal

Never used them, but just by the looks, they seem to be cheaply made. Also a friend of mine had a couple and he told me they sucked.

The distortion pedals suck. I've used them and gave them away. I'm using the Compressor/Sustainer and so far so good. My lead guitarist uses the Chorus pedal and it sounds pretty good.

As for build quality, they are the same shape/design as a Boss pedals but made of hard plastic instead. Mine has held up pretty well but I don't stomp the sht out of it either. I think that they are good begginer level pedals to which you can upgrade late on.

The DD100 is pretty good. About the same as the Boss. The only pedals of Behringers that I've tried and do not recommend for people looking for cheap effects is the Tube Overdrive and the Digital Reverb. Both of these pedals are a waste of money. However, for the price, most of the other Behringer stomp boxes I've tried were decent.

wait, what? you are so off my friend.
example 1:
my ibanez acoustic. looks so damn pretty.
but, it sounds like the money i paid for it.
200 dollars

example 2:
my jazz bass looks like ****
however, sounds and plays like a dream (minus a little buzzing on the d-string tuner, but that doesnt come out through the amp, only acoustically)

VERDICT
looks aint everything. it can look like crow vomit, and still sound great

i dont care if it is made with a titanium case. if it sounds like crap, i'm not going to buy it.

This is Behringers best effect pedal.
It's a Tech 21 Sansamp clone. Shockingly good analog amp models. Check it out.

I would disagree, I'd say this is the best.

Although not an effect.
And as far as the plastic case goes, no they don't break unless you abuse them. However, effects sit on the floor, where it's very easy to trip on them one day, or drop something on them. I've had 2 Behringer pedals, one was in just as good of condition the day I sold it as the day I bought it. The other (tuner above) cracked on both sides at the hinge points.
Which brings me to the ONLY other complaint about their cases. If you want to run them with batteries, expect to be aggravated to the point of no return changing the batteries.
