You can connect a head to a combo, but only connect it to the speakers NOT THE AMP PART. The previous owner of mine had a plug put in to run other amps to the speakers directly.

you just have to make sure that the connection to the speaker (on the combo) has a jack and isn't hardwired. you would likely see a really short cord that is plugged into it and should actually have red on the input on a marshall mg series.

Yes - please don't plug it direct.
