The Kahler is a smoother system but that's kind of the reason I don't like it as much. They seem to hold tune even better though.

I heard one of the two systems will cause a string to go out of tune when you bend a note. I can't remember which one it was. Any ideas?

People complain about Floyd Roses, but I have 3 original ones, and I can't remember them ever going significantly out of tune. My vote goes with the Floyd Rose.

^this, I have an OFR on my Kramer Focus circa 1983-85, still works great, and does not go out of tune, even with heavy gauge strings and lots of spring tension

Kahler is def. better I know a guy who has one and its awesome and easier to tune
not all FR's detune strings but i thinks its more common with FR's then Kahler

Floyd Rose is sounding pretty kickass at the moment.

Which would be best for playing neoclassical shred?

Damn, I can't even imagine that.

Anyways, since I've never heard it, i'm gonna generalise: the floyd is supposed to be great for extreme dive bombs , but I'd go with the kahler , just for looks
