The clean channel on the 30 and up seems nice.
As soon as he gets into the crunch it starts sounding thin and digital...
So no real change, just an aesthetics change with a more effective contour control.

Are any of the videos working for you?

It would be nice if they actually made it sound good, but from the looks of it now, they just gave it some new cosmetics and a few extra buttons.

the volume control of the media player doesnt seem to work very well. are they, by any chance, modelling that after the MG as well?

The new MG series sounds better then the old one but it might just be that the demo was recorded well. I'll have to try one out myself before I make judgments.

Whats the difference between the old mg and the new other then cosmetics and saving settings?

Videos aren't working for me. It says the clip number does not exist.

once your in theater you have to click on demos and then go to it from there

Well, either they're hiding a different amp behind, processing the crap out of it with other stuff after recording, or it actually sounds half descent.

I don't know which way is up anymore!
I'm Joel. I play guitar. I am a student. I look at the cost of tuition, not in a dollar value, but in the guitars I'm sacrificing now, to be able to buy later.

Just watched the 50 watt demo... Sounds alright, better than the old MG, but how much of that is studio editing and how much is the amp itself? I think some demo's done by certain manufacturers are edited. That's how i ended up with the amp i have now.

Theres a youtube vid of kerry king playing the new mg at NAMM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD8tpiW82q4

wicked, thanks for posting that vid... King sure makes the MG sound f`ing good LOL. i guess the saying is true, a guitarest can get his sound on pretty much any amp he wants.

Keep in mind that plenty of crappy amps sound good in youtube demos....these must be played before I change my mind about the MG line.

Can't say it was that good, OK maybe and an improvement on the previous series, but the distortion from a Marshall tube head is way better.

i watched the old marshall mg demo an marshall's website and then watched the new video.
the new one soundes alot better than the original, but it is the marshall demo sooo i dont have my final opinion yet.

The OD sounded pretty decent, but the cleans seemed sterile. I'd have to try one of these out, though so far it's seeming like the MG will be an actual decent amp.

I might switch my MG100 head with the new one when it comes out.

That is if I don't buy a 5150 first.
