E.g- robert plant in a power metal band
(i have no idea what power metal is, this is just an example)

any ideas?

Lulz. It's Bruce Dickinson. Not Paul. I think Paul was the name of their first singer. Could be wrong though.

I think the former singer of Scar Symmetry would do well as a pop singer.

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.
