should've known I'd get this response posting on a music forum .
I don't actually think it's an original chord progression or that they actually ripped each other off. I do have a (admittedly basic enough) knowledge of music theory.

they forgot "since youve been gone" by Rainbow, allthough i think its in A, its the same type of progression though.

2)make obvious punk puns, possibly related to food
3)make fun of Rancid and NOFX again

Someone posted a live version of this before, but it's cool to see all the artists/song titles as it plays.

First off, not all of those songs are in the same key.
Second off, some of those dont follow that progression, they just work over it.

Thumbs down.

The video was really good, until they added that Beatles song in there. Since the Beatles are better than every other band/artist in that video combined

Jesus Christ, lighten up a bit! It is only a joke, after all.

And you cant say that a ton of songs don't use that same progression. Which isn't a bad thing, but it is the case nonetheless.

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

Close, but not quite. Canon in D starts with I-V-vi-iii, while Don't Stop Believin' (along with 35 other songs) starts with I-V-vi-IV.

I don't like seeing the phrase "ripped off" applied to something as simple and common as a chord progression, but I liked the video nonetheless.
