I've always been curious. Whenever I meet a guitarist (a real one), they always tend to strike a killer resemblance to an actual famous guitarist in the way they act, move, talk, play, etc. They also tend to have similar gear to the artist that I think they are like.

So I was curious what guitarist you yourself think you are most similar to.

I'd have to say I'm like Eric Clapton in his earlier days in the 60's and 70's.

Umm. I don't really know. I play through a gothic explorer, a 77 les paul deluxe, into a sansamp and fender bassman; and a 70s guild acoustic. My style is a combination of things, mainly prog and psychedelic though I've never set out to play in any style, it just sort of happened (I actually started listening to music similar to what I play AFTER I started writing how I write now). I don't know who I act like, I'm sort of odd to people that dont know me.

kyahahaha, nice. "when I meet a guitarist they remind me of an actual guitarist."
sorry, had to poke fun at that.

myself I'd have to say my riffs are like Deryck Whibley's (back before sum 41 went pop) and my soloing skills are more clapton-esque.

I act a lot like a cross between Steve Vai(stage faces and such) and Tobias Sammet (general personality, from what i've seen)

The second is not a guitarist, but he plays bass dammit!

My attitude is like Andy Timmons i guess. He seems pretty easy going.

Steve Vai, Andy Timmons, Tobias Sammet. Yeah, thats it.

i still haven't found a guitarist that bears a striking resemblance to me, but as far as style, Kurt Cobain is definitely somebody i sound like style-wise, he's been a big influence on me musically.
#23
I don't know which guitarist I'm like. I know from over the years, I've developed a playing like John Frusciante, but I've been able to break that.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

Well I would say I'm alot like Tony Iommi in the way I act on stage.I sorta stand there, doing my thing and I occasionally joke with a band memeber or laugh at something.
I dress like Kurt Cobain though.I just put whatever pair of dirty jeans on then find a T-shirt lying around somewhere and if I feel like it,skip out on shoes.
But when it comes to sound...almost kinda lemmyish (even though he plays bass...).

i like to model my playing after Gus G of Firewind, power metal shred. and shred like you couldn't imagine.
#33
People say that I look like Gilby Clarke...

I'd say my playing style is kind of a mix. It leans toward Jimmy Page, but it has that Jack White minimalist-approach to it.
#34
Hmmm probably close to
Joe Walsh-I have a quick Wit and a quirky sense of humour, and play classic rock stuff

Jimmy Page-I act a lot like this guy when i play lol

Cheers

Well, you could probably tell which guitarist I am like by my Username...

In terms of my actual guitar playing, I would say I'm like a mix between Angus Young and Billy Gibbons. I love the simplicity of Angus's playing, and I love the down-and-dirty blues that Billy plays.

My attitude is probably more toward Angus. When I play, I simply can't help but move the way he does.
#38
I really wouldn't know. I don't really play like any guitarist I admire, just sorta go with where I want to go. I'd like to think I'm a bit Buckethead and a bit Adam Jones though.

But I act a bit childish like Toki Wartooth at times and have odd times of strangeness kinda like Joe Satriani and Buckethead.
I have a tendency to swagger about and do odd hand gestures and stare like Cap'n Jack Sparrow too...
