Hi,
I have a 65 twin reverb RI and a strat. I was wondering what overdrive/fuzz pedal sounds good with a twin?
I was thinking about getting a Big muff pi, Fulltone OCD or some fuzz pedal.
Do they sound good with a twin? I dont really have a music store nearby here, where i can find out, thats why I'm asking you guys here.
I play mostly indie/alternative rock also some blues and jazz (i can get those tones from my amp), no metal.
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks!

they all sound completely different...

can you give any sort of tone you're aiming for, otherwise it's just way too broad, they all work well for blues and alt rock, but they all have completely different sounds.

I was a little dissapointed with the fulltone OCD. Maybe its because its the first o/d pedal i have had, so i was expecting a bit to much from it, or maybe it was my amp, as it has a crap clean channel, so i have to run on o/d with gain turned down, in this configuration, it doesnt really do much at all
RG's & Mesa's

If you're trying to play metal with it, then yeah... it's not going to sound that great...

I'm looking for a hendrix type of sound, but also heavier like kyuss, qotsa, black keys like

Ahhhhh. I love The Black Keys

The Twin is a bit bright, really for that kind of stuff, IMO, but there are a bunch of things that can get you some thickness.

I really like that one.

And this is one of my favorite fuzzes

That one is also good (note the Black Keys song in the opening )

If those are too rich for you, I can find about 10-15 others that'd do the trick.

I talk about it a lot....it sounds AMAZING!

The next pedal besides my EQ (and any trades i might make) is going to be a DBAFW.
Gonna have to save up though.

Overdrive and Fuzz are completely different. Whats your budget?

Low Budget: Cool Cat Fuzz (true bypass, fantastic tone) or Transparent Overdrive (Also true bypass and fantastic)

High Budget: Analogman Sun Face & Fulltone Fulldrive
